Stupid GirlOnly fools fall in love…

After her senior year of high school leaves behind nothing but heartache, Olivia Beaumont is sure of this: She’s no stupid girl. She sets out for Winston University, promising herself that she will remain focused on her first and only love – astronomy. But all it takes is cocky sophomore Brax Jenkins and an accidental collision with a football, to throw her entire year off course.

A quick-tempered Southie who escaped the inner city streets of Boston to pitch for Winston, Brax is known to play way more fields than just the baseball diamond. So, when his name is drawn to take part in his fraternity’s hazing dare, Brax eagerly accepts the mission to take Olivia’s virginity. But he doesn’t plan on falling hard for the sweet and sassy Texas girl who sees right through his bad-boy persona.

As Olivia and Brax battle their feelings for each other, echoes of the past year begin to surface. A boy who once turned Olivia’s whole world upside down reappears, and “harmless” pranks wreak havoc. Pretty soon the aspiring astronomer is on the verge of revealing her most difficult, heartbreaking secret. All the while, Brax must wrestle with the irrevocable dare, and Olivia struggles against all logic as she does the one thing only a stupid girl would do: fall in love.

Stupid Girl is book #1 in the Stupid In Love Series and the first book I have read by this author. I have been gifted a copy of the second book Stupid Boy to review but I figured I’d best start at the beginning and read Stupid Girl first.

I like this book, its witty and cute and it really appealed to me, I loved the cute Texas cowgirl meeting the brash tatted up Boston boy idea it’s your typical meet cute but hell if it ain’t broke why fix it!!!

Our Stupid Girl aka Olivia/Gracie is in fact not that stupid at all, personally I would describe her as naively world weary. She hasn’t had the greatest teenage experience and to be honest I feel really sorry for her.

I feel the need to strongly point out what an absolute Douche bag Kelsy is, my only bugbear for this book is that he doesn’t get his comeuppance!!!! That really annoys me he doesn’t get any kind of retribution for what he did and that doesn’t sit well with me at all!!! I know that Olivia is trying to rise above it and not let him affect her life but seriously karma is a great bit PMSing Bi**h and she needs to throw some anger his way!!!

Ok on to a more pleasant subject Brax! He has his moments of being an idiot but I can completely overlook them purely because of how obsessed he is with his Gracie. This isn’t an overtly sexy story but Olivia and Brax’s relationship is intense and deep, and they may only be really young but I liked that there was a youthful innocence to the whole story.

I love Brax he’s a bad boy with a temper and he’s far too young for me to be lusting over but he’s just adorable. He is protective of his Gracie and even though he seems to be a magnet for trouble he’s just so likeable.

This is an easy, read there’s a hint of darkness but ultimately it’s just a college romance.

I really enjoyed this book.

Stupid Girl gets 4 stars from me.
