Porter Marshall has nearly achieved his goal of becoming a Club Sin Master, but his new sub poses a much bigger challenge than he anticipated. Despite their mutual attraction and red-hot dungeon sessions, Kenzie Hart plays her own games. Her bratty, you-can’t-break-me attitude masks terrible personal hurt—pain that only the exquisite touch of a skilled Dom can release. But when Porter suggests taking their connection to the outside world, Kenzie denies him . . . which only makes him want her more.
Kenzie can’t ignore the raw, fierce bond she has with Porter. But she can’t give in to his dangerous demands, either. Is the passion they share real, or is he using her to solidify his status at Club Sin? And yet, who else can she trust with the shattering secrets she holds within? As Porter expertly brings her to the point of no return, Kenzie surrenders her body—and, piece by piece, her heart.
Tamed is book #5 in the Club Sin Series but is actually the first book I have read by this author. I was gifted a copy of the book to read for Gemma Reads Too Much.
People think that 50 Shades of Grey started the kinky book revolution, how wrong they are!!! Thousands of filthy books could be found years before FSOG simply by typing in erotica into Amazon lol. That’s how I found BDSM and D/S books and as degenerate as that may make me sound I love the romances that stem from these extreme sexual relationships.
It’s been ages since I read a good D/S book so when an invitation to read Tamed popped up in my inbox I jumped at the chance.
This book starts strong, I love that Kenzie is the bratty sub of the club. She’s fiery and stubborn and her attitude is incredibly endearing and likable. I think it’s inbuilt for people to assume that sexually submissive women have to be weak and meek and Kenzie is the perfect example of how wrong that idea is.
Porter is the perfect Dom; he’s alpha and absolutely dominant. But he isn’t an asshole with a god complex, I felt his intensity but also his caring and protective streak literally from his first interactions with Kenzie.
I have to say that this is a BDSM book without that much actual sex in which is I have to say is a little unusual!!! I really would have loved there to have been a LOT more kinky play because when Porter became Master Porter he was seriously sexy!!!!
I enjoyed the suspense/danger element of the story, for some reason big bad Dom’s vs. big bad criminals is always a combination that works.
This book is part of a series but is also a perfect standalone, I’ve never read any of the rest of the series and I didn’t feel out of the loop for not knowing the backgrounds of the other characters.
I always feel like the BDSM community in these types of book definitely give off a family feel and its always really nice and comforting.
I like dirty, sexy books and for me this just wasn’t quite dirty and sexy enough, this book was a slow burn and given Porter and Kenzies characters it was the perfect pace for the emerging love story. As a couple they were sweet but I missed the intense connection that usually comes with d/s relationships.
I enjoyed this book although a little slow and sweet for me, I am definitely planning to go back and read the rest of the series to search for a slightly dirtier, edgier couple.
Tamed gets 3 stars from me.
