Photographer CJ Parker is a woman who has literally not gone outside for the past six months. She’s been hiding from the world, and from life, ever since an unimaginable tragedy forced her into seclusion.
On the one day where she decides to finally venture outside, she meets the mysterious billionaire, Asher Sloane. Dark-headed, magnetic, and gorgeous, Asher drips sex and animal magnetism. He draws CJ out of her shell and into the world, while showing her things that she never knew existed.
What CJ doesn’t know is that Asher has a dangerous past. Behind his beautiful blue eyes and confident demeanor lies dark secrets that, if they are brought to light, could mean the end of CJ and Asher’s relationship.
Will the exposure of Asher’s past destroy them?
Exposure is book #1 in the Exposure Series and the first book I have read by this author. I was gifted a copy of the book to read for Gemma reads too much.
I may be gifted books by the authors or publicity companies but I still feel an obligation to the readers to provide an honest review.
This book has a great blurb; it promises alpha dominant guy and lots of sexy times which are all massive pluses in my book.
Unfortunately for me this book just doesn’t work at all!!!
This book has a very peculiar writing style; the book feels very stilted and wooden. To me the book was so grammatically correct that it never felt conversational.
CJ and Asher should be an explosive combination but instead the interactions felt stiff and forced.
I need to rant for a minute “my big cock” is not a sexy phrase especially not when it’s used every two seconds. Seriously it was my big cock this and my big cock that it got to a point when I started to cringe every time I saw it and it was a LOT!!!
The book then flipped from porn to self help guide which was bizarre, CJ is happy to spend thousands of dollars of Asher’s money but she doesn’t want him to know where she is!!!!
I just didn’t get this book, I wanted to like it but I just didn’t.
I didn’t feel connected to the characters and their happiness because I don’t feel like I know anything other than facts about them.
There will be people who will love this book, the author has written lots of other books. So perhaps this is her writing style that I’m just not getting on board with.
Either way I hated this book!
By the way ‘squirt’ is not a sexy word, never no matter what the circumstances!!!
Exposure gets 2 stars from me.
