review 4 stars

Getting Lucky Number Seven is the first book I have read by this author, I was lucky enough to be gifted a copy of this book to read for Gemma Reads Too Much.

This book was awesome!!!

Its light hearted and fun, I loved the characters and the writing style.

Lyla is hilarious her character is genuinely funny and witty, I loved the almost slapstick humour her character provides. But it’s done in a way that doesn’t make her look like a fool, in fact I personally felt like it made her even more endearing!!

I kind of  have a bit of a girl crush on Lyla, the geek jokes and cat memes had me chuckling and generally just wanting her to be my new BFF.

Beck is swoon worthy, but it kind of evaporates when he starts to act on his feelings for Lyla. I think I just like my men to be a bit more brooding and Beck is just a real sweetheart. Don’t get me wrong he’s still sexy as hell but instead of being asshole sexy he’s nice guy sexy.

The banter between Beck and Lyla is incredibly funny and sweet, they obviously have a strong sexual connection but first and foremost they are best friends and that deeper friendship made this couple so much deeper than if it had been based purely on lust.

I wasn’t expecting to get completely dragged into Beck and Lyla’s world but I honestly couldn’t put this book down and I read it in one straight sitting.

This is proper NA writing and it was so nice to fall back into the genre that I enjoy so much but rarely read anymore.

This is the first book I have read by this author but I doubt it will be the last, this book had a great flow to it and I was so absorbed in the characters that I kind of forgot it was a book (I know that’s odd but it makes total sense to me lol)

I really enjoyed this book and I am now sitting writing this review with a huge smile on my face.

Getting Lucky Number Seven gets 4 stars from me.
