Dare to Dream

Dare to DreamBad boy Kade Maxwell knows all too well the pain and loss of the death of a loved one after his sister’s death tore his family—especially his mother—to pieces. He longs for the day his mother can heal from the mental anguish and return home to live with her family again. He prays every day that God will keep his brothers safe and that his father will one day be reunited with his wife. He doesn’t dream of his future. In fact, he had nightmarish glimpses of what his life would’ve been like as an adult until he met Lacey. She’s a light that cuts through his darkness. Her beauty, her determination, and her dedication in overcoming her own tragedy energizes his belief that maybe—just maybe—he can dream again.

Lacey Robinson has suffered tragedy at the hands of a killer who took away her sister and mother. After a change of scenery and a new life, her PTSD is on the mend. With the love and strength from Kade Maxwell and the help of her psychiatrist, she’s been able to work on the triggers that cause her panic attacks and blackouts. With a clear head and a clear road to the future, Lacey dreams of three things: She longs to find the person who killed her family. She wants to play baseball for ASU so bad she can taste it. And she wants a future with Kade Maxwell. But with several roadblocks thrown in her way, she may not get everything she wants. A trip to California opens a door that could expose the killer. Aaron Seever is up to his psychotic, bullying antics, and Kade has his own path for the future, one Lacey isn’t sure includes her.

Kade vows to love and protect Lacey even if that means his life for hers. Lacey vows to push through her demons and show Kade and her family that she has what it takes to rise above tragedy, even if she has to run into the arms of a killer to save a loved one.

Review 4 Stars

Dare to dream is book #2 in the Maxwell Series. I was lucky enough to be gifted a copy of this book to read for Gemma Reads Too Much.

It’s been a long time since I read Dare to Kiss back in July last year, but I instantly fell back into Kade and Lacey’s world.

I don’t remember the first book being such a sex fest!!!! Kade and Lacey are at it all of the time!!!! And it was sexy and hot although it felt a little pervy to be reading about the sex life of two 18yr olds.

I didn’t like Lacey as much in this book as I did in the first instalment, but I get the feeling that this book was really more about Kade anyway.

This book felt dark and gritty and at times down right violent. I knew something deeper would be revealed about Lacey’s mom and sister’s deaths but I had no idea it would be this!!!

Once the plot gets going it runs at break neck speed, I really enjoyed the tension that kept me on the edge of my seat!!

Again the Maxwell brothers seem years older than there teenage years, but I loved how strong and charismatic they all were.

I felt sorry for Kade in this book; he was stuck in a horrible position. He made some stupid decisions but I honestly don’t think he deserves what Lacey did.

While the boys appeared mature, I felt like Lacey really did act like a scared 18yr old girl. It was nice for her to act like a teenager but also frustrating as hell when she behaved like an idiot!!!

I can’t wait for Kelton’s book to come out I love Chloe and I think that books gonna be explosive!!

I totally guessed who he was at the end; I can’t say more than that but it was excellent lol!!

This book was cool, there was romance, sex and suspense and they all formed together to create a book that I simply couldn’t put down.

Dare to dream gets 4 stars from me
