Fearless by Shae Ross
Devi Dalton won’t let anyone hold her back. With the help of her friends, she’s taken control of her future and traded her messed-up family life for a new job in Manhattan. Her only obstacle? Ben Winslow, the sexy friend she’s desperately trying to resist. If she’s going to succeed, she can’t afford to be distracted, no matter how hot the chemistry burns between them.
Cage fighter Ben spent six months trying to convince Devi to take a chance on a relationship. Now that they’ve reunited in New York, he’s not letting her push him away again. They’re more than friends—always have been—and he’ll do whatever it takes to prove it to her. First, he has a few demons of his own to slay…one of which could ruin his chances with her for forever.
But every fighter has a weakness. Ben’s is Devi. And this time, she’ll need more than just her favorite “Fearless Red” lipstick to protect her heart if she lets him in…
Fearless is the first book I have read by this author. I was lucky enough to be gifted a copy of this book to read for Gemma Reads Too Much.
I think this book is part of a series but I read it as a standalone and never felt like I was missing out for not having read the other book.
Devi is a quirky character, what’s weird is that in the relationship between her and Ben she has the most stereotypically male characteristics. It’s kind of ironic to find a women who seems hesitant to commit lol
That being said I did still find her quite likeable and relatable.
Ben is a really lovely character, he’s the quintessential nice guy and honestly I challenge you to find something you don’t like about him.
This is an all round nice easy read, it had a 90s Friends style feel to it and was an easy way to loose a couple of hours.
Honestly it was a bit tame for me but it was nice change to be absorbed in a world where you know everything is going to be alright.
This is a great holiday novel, easy to dip into while you sunbathe and drink cocktails.
Fearless gets 3.5 stars from me.

“I want something from you, Devi.”
“I want something from you too, Ben,” she says, leaning to me. I pull away and turn her in my arms. If I’m going to hold out I can’t be looking at her mouth or watching her look at mine. “I’ve got what you want, babe.” I find her hands and pull them above her head. Her fingers curl around the pole, and I lock one hand over both of hers to keep them still.
“I want you more than I’ve ever wanted anyone, but I’m not willing to do this with you anymore. You are driving me crazy with this whole ‘just friends’ thing. Enough.”
