Stoeln Breaths

Stolen Breaths“I have dents, bruises, scars, and cracks so deep that it’s a wonder I’m not in a million pieces…”

Sometimes things aren’t always what they seem. Sometimes pain lies underneath, buried so deep that for a moment you let yourself forget – until you can’t.

I didn’t realize how numb I was until I started feeling again, and he made me feel – everything. Cooper Hudson came into my life when I needed him the most – twice.

This is my story. This is the story of us.

“It was funny how you never really realized how lifeless you were until someone came along and gave you that shock to the chest that forced your heart to start beating again.”

Review 2.5 Stars

Stolen Breaths is book #1 in the Stolen Breaths Series and the first book I have read by this author. I was gifted a copy of this book to read for Gemma Reads Too Much.

OK, god how to say this…..

This book is incredibly emotional!!!!

Like honestly at times I struggled with not throwing up at ALL the emotions that were being throw left right and centre.

This story has a serious case of insta-love and it’s even in the dialogue that it takes them 5 days to fall in love!!!!!!

I mean wtf 5 days!!!!

Then I felt like I had missed a really important chapter when Cooper says he met Lily five years previously.

This book is a mixed of the nicest people in the history of nice people and awful scenes of extreme violence.

I really struggled with this book, I found it overly polite. Now I’m not sure if the dialogue was unintentionally formal, or if it’s written with a serious amount of Nashville politeness in mind. Either way for me it just seemed like even the most expressive declarations of love were uncomfortably formal.

I didn’t hate this book just honestly it wasn’t my cupboard tea!!

I’m sure people love this story of fate bringing two lovely people together but I just wasn’t one of them.

Stolen Breaths gets 2.5 stars from me.
