Ready to Reach by Inglath Cooper
Ever thought a dream might pass you by?
Nineteen-year old CeCe Mackenzie is determined to make her dreams come true. She heads for Nashville with not much more to her name than a guitar, a Walker Hound named Hank Junior and an old car she’d inherited from her grandma called Gertrude. But when Gertrude ends up on the side of I-40 in flames, Nashville has never seemed farther away. Help arrives in the form of two Georgia football players headed for the Nashville dream as well. When Holden Ashford and Thomas Franklin stop to offer CeCe and Hank Junior a ride, fate may just give a nod to serendipity and meant to be. Because while CeCe is chasing after her dream, she might find love as well.
New Adult Romance where “the characters are so alive you can almost hear them next to you.”
Ready to reach is book #1 in the Nashville Series and the first book I have read by this author. I was gifted a copy of the book to read for Gemma reads too much.
As a blogger I get offered a lot of books, it’s a hard decision deciding which ones to read and a good 75% of the time I love the books. I have discovered some of my favourite authors through blogging.
BUT my absolute biggest pet peeve is starting a new book, getting into the story only to have it slam to an end right in the middle of the plot!!!
If I want to indulge in a series I would watch the TV but I don’t, I want to loose myself in a story and characters.
I indulge multiple book series because I still get a proper chunk of story but novellas are the cocktease of stories.
Please, please, please authors make it explicit on your review invite that you book is a novella because honestly this start to a very sweet story has been ruined by the fact that just as I started to engage I’ve been cut off!!
Ready to reach is a very sweet musical saga, fans of the Nashville TV show this has a very similar feel.
Holden, Thomas and CeCe make a very cute threesome and i did wonder if this story was going to take a kinky little ménage a trois twist.
There’s a tentative love vibe that I’m assuming will develop over the series.
For me hank Junior stole the show!!!
I’m honestly just gutted that this super short nugget wasn’t a full length novel.
Honestly it’s unlikely that I will continue on with the series, novella series have to literally rock my world for me to pick them up.
Ready to reach gets a totally annoyed it’s a novella 2 stars.
