Ghost by Nicole James
Evil Dead MC #5
Ghost has been living his life under one rule…never fall in love, never get too close, never get tied down to just one woman. Focusing solely on his club, he is able to remain unattached and free…. until a girl from his past is dropped in his lap. She was a line he swore he’d never cross. And now, in order to obtain an alliance his club needs, he’s forced to use her in ways he’d never imagined.
She needs his protection, and she’s the one woman he can’t refuse.
When Ghost finds himself unable to keep his distance from her, will he be able to push his feelings aside and use her as a pawn for the attainment of his club’s goals? Or will he put the club and their lives at risk to follow his heart?
When lies and secrets come between them, can they overcome everything to find their own piece of heaven?
Ghost is book #5 in the Evil Dead MC Series and the first book i have read by Nicole James I was lucky enough to be gifted an ARC to read for Gemma Reads Too Much.
I read a lot of MC books it’s one of my favourite genres so I have pretty high expectations of any MC book I read. Ghost, well it kind of lived up to those expectations.
Ghost himself is a good character; he’s dirty and alpha in the best possible way.
I kind of liked Jessie she had a great attitude and her banter with the other bikers was saucy and entertaining.
The problem I had is that I didn’t really feel the connection between Ghost and Jessie.
The sexual chemistry they had was good but I was a little let down by the actual sex scenes. Why did she not get any orgasms!!!! I kind of felt like she was just going through the motions. There was definitely no being carried away with the sexual experience.
I kind of felt like this whole book seemed a bit rushed, I don’t mean that the story was a fast pace because I can get on board with that.
Perhaps I just never connected with the story I’m not sure.
What I am completely intrigued by is Blood, he’s not even a massive character but he completely captured my attention.
Overall this book was OK but not great and gets 3 stars from me
