Translucent by Erin Noelle
The day I watched my husband murder the woman who was pregnant with his child, my point didn’t just break, it exploded like a full magazine’s worth of hollow points firing through the barrel of a fully-automatic AK-47.
I am no longer his American Princess, nor am I his slave.
Now, I’m a murderer in hiding. My name was Bryleigh Carter Oliveira, and that was my story.
Translucent is book #1 in the Luminous series, I’ve read quite a few books by Erin Noelle so I was interested to get started on this new series.
This book is a LOT darker than anything I’ve read from this author before, at times it was so descriptive I was uncomfortable and I did consider if this was a book I really wanted to read.
Blake is heartbreakingly broken and god my heart went out to her for the hell she suffered through.
What makes it worse is the fact that as a reader we all know it’s not over for her, she suffers constantly through this book and then for it to end the way it did!!!!
I loved how this book started, because honestly after having read this book I honestly don’t think I would have made it through if I hadn’t know she at least got some justice,
I’m not sure how I feel about Madden, he’s adoringly lovely to Blake and I love him for that but really this story is more about Blake than Madden.
The flashbacks are incredibly harrowing and horrifyingly real!!
Poor, poor Blake every time she got a glimpse at happiness she got dragged back into the darkness of her past again.
I don’t think I liked this book, it made me feel overwhelmingly sad and I just don’t see how they are going to get to the light at the end of the tunnel.
Transparent gets 3 hurts my heart stars.
