Felix by Elizabeth Reyes
5th Street #5
World famous boxing champ, Felix Sanchez, had it all—the fame, the fortune, and all the women any man could ask for. When the hours of partying followed by hours spent in court and in rehab begin to outnumber the hours he spends training, losing his title comes as no surprise to everyone. The world assumes he deserved to lose it.
Only those closest to Felix know the real truth behind his sudden downward spiral. And if Felix has his way, no one else ever will. With an uncertain future ahead of him, he heads back to his roots—5th Street—the gym that started it all for him. It’s where he meets the humble but mighty little Ms. Ella.
The only times Felix had ever decided to forgo the usual meaningless fling and try a real relationship he was burned badly. Now the adorable but tenacious self-defense instructor has him considering this love thing one more time.
Then just when he begins to worry that his past is letting his possessive and jaded heart get the best of him, he’s blindsided in the most brutal way—he’s brought to his knees—to what could be the one low in his life he may never recover from.
Felix is book #5 in the 5th street series. This is yet another book that’s sat on my kindle for far too long.
Felix has been in all of the books in the series but really apart from on a few occasions I’ve thought he was a bit of a dick!
Now in his own book I wondered if he would be any different or if we would see that sweet loving side that the other 5th street guys have demonstrated.
Well pretty early on we see that Ella + Felix = whipped Felix!
Now I know that many people love the bad boy reforming for the love of a good woman but I’m not one of those people. I love the unashamed asshole; I love the alpha male who’s unreasonably bossy and possessive.
Felix could be alpha, he has glimpses of that possessive attitude shining through but the author made it seem like a bad trait that needed to be hidden.
For me the moment Felix got all hen pecked he stopped being sexy, I know many people out there will disagree but this is my review and my opinion.
This isn’t a bad book and it was a sweet ending to a series that I’ve enjoyed but as far as the lust factor well it didn’t really do it for me.
Felix gets 3 stars.
