Ryder by L.A. Casey
Slater Brothers #4
Branna Murphy is broken. For months now she has been a part of a one-sided relationship to a man she loves more than life itself. She prayed for a miracle, and hoped something would change, but found that was wishful thinking.
Talking didn’t work. Shouting didn’t work. Crying didn’t work. Nothing bloody worked.
Ryder Slater is furious. For months now he has been lying to a woman he would take a bullet for in order to protect her. He is involved in something that goes deeper than his old past, and if he strays off target, people will start to die. People he loves.
He couldn’t talk. He couldn’t slip up. He couldn’t lose focus. He couldn’t do a damn thing.
Things between Ryder and Branna are at rock bottom, and Ryder knows it. Not only will he be taking on a force that could destroy his whole family, but he will be battling tooth and nail to save his relationship and keep the love of his life by his side.
Ryder targeted Branna from the first moment he saw her, and what Ryder targets, Ryder dominates.
Ryder is book #4 in the Slater Brothers series, I was lucky enough to be gifted an ARC of the book to read for Gemma Reads Too Much.
I’ve waited for this book, Ryder and Branna’s story has always intrigued me, we’ve watched the other couples fight and come together but for the eldest siblings they’ve always just been a couple.
I loved this book!
Ryder was alpha perfection; unfortunately he was also a bit of a dick!!
I felt so incredibly sorry for Branna, she’s surrounded by this incredible family yet she feels so alone. I really did think that maybe her and Ash would get together as a catalyst for Ryder to get his arse into gear and get his girl back.
I loved the flashbacks to when they first got together and Jesus the sex was HOT who knew that Ryder would go all dominant?
I suspected what Ryder was up to but I wanted to slap him round the head for not telling her!! I kind of get what he was thinking in keeping it all from her but god they could have just been blissfully happy all along!
This book would have been perfect if we had heard some of Ryder’s perspective, I get the feeling that he’s much deeper than I give him credit for, although honestly he could be as shallow as a puddle and id still find him swoonworthy!
We get a glimpse at the lives of the rest of the clan and again I just love this family. Please, please adopt me!
We just need Damian’s story now and I can’t wait!
Ryder gets 4.5 stars from me.
